The book 'Padap Prajanan: Siddhant Evam Vidhiyan | Plant Breeding: Principles and Methods' has been written keeping in mind the undergraduate level courses of Botany, Biology and Agricultural Sciences of Indian Universities. This book describes various aspects of plant breeding in 29 chapters. These chapters include diversity, gene effect, breeding methods, pollination, germplasm, plant introduction, selection, hybridization, hybrid vigour, hybrid varieties, clonal crop improvement, diseases resistance and insect resistance breeding, mutation breeding, biotechnology, marker-assisted plant breeding, seed production and certification and intellectual property rights etc. have been described in detail. A lot of effort has been made to keep the language and style of the book simple and understandable. It is hoped that this will prove useful as a basic reading material for students studying the subject of plant breeding in Hindi language. Along with this, it will also be useful for various competitive examinations.
